Dan Nakamoto

Executive Director & CEO

As Executive Director since August 2014, Daniel is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of MHA. Prior to coming to MHA, he worked in the human services field for more than three decades in senior management positions in state and non-profit organizations including North American Family Institute, Justice Resource Institute, Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and Department of Mental Health. He was also a Principle in the development The Captive Advantage, a group captive insurance company for human services organizations, and co-founder of the Reuse Center of Boston Building Resources.

Dan is committed to professional management of human services, with a focus on best practices, innovation and accountability. Since coming to MHA, Dan has overseen the expansion of housing resources, development of Acquired Brain Injury and Shared Living services, the agency’s membership in the Greater Lowell Behavioral Health Community Partnership, and increased collaboration with the Lowell community including the Police Department on Project CARE and the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association.

Dan received his Bachelor’s in Government from Beloit College and a Masters in Social Planning from the Boston College School of Social Work.
